Elise Marchand had spent a decade in larger practices watching good schemes diluted by volume. The studio was founded to work the other way: fewer projects, longer thinking, and a refusal to specify anything nobody could explain.

Fourteen years later the model has not changed. We take five to eight commissions a year across three cities, keep the team deliberately small, and stay on site through completion. Half of what we do is deciding what not to do.
