Overview
A 1920s bank converted into a 44-key hotel.
The double-height banking hall became the lobby, crowned by a commissioned bronze mobile of 180 hand-beaten discs.
Design challenges
- 01A protected interior where nothing could be fixed to the stone.
- 02Guest arrival, bar and restaurant sharing one volume.
- 03A lighting scheme that had to work at 8am and midnight.
Final outcome
Opened to a 91% occupancy first quarter and a Wallpaper* Design Award nomination. Every intervention is reversible and structurally independent.
