Overview
A Haussmannian apartment stripped back to its bones and rebuilt around light.
We restored the original mouldings, opened the enfilade, and let a single curved bouclé volume anchor the room.
Design challenges
- 01Heritage protections limited any change to the façade and window openings.
- 02The original plan cut the apartment into eight small, dark rooms.
- 03The client collects large-format works that needed uninterrupted wall runs.
Final outcome
A four-room plan with a 14-metre sightline from entry to balcony. Daylight now reaches the core of the apartment at every hour, and the collection hangs on three continuous plaster walls.
