A 41st-floor residence designed for dusk.
Layered warm sources and plaster that absorbs light keep the city as the brightest thing in the room.
Design challenges
- 01Floor-to-ceiling glazing that turned into a black mirror after sunset.
- 02A client who wanted no downlights anywhere.
- 03Acoustic transfer from the building's mechanical core.
Final outcome
A scheme of 34 warm, low-level sources on five circuits. The glazing reads as view, not reflection, at every hour of the evening.
